Free In-School Workshops

The Music Conservatory of Westchester provides in-school sectionals, workshops and NYSSMA Majors-style feedback, at no expense to public schools.

Whether you are a new teacher going to NYSSMA Majors for the first time, or a seasoned conductor looking for a set of outside ears, we invite you to take advantage of your local Conservatory.

Our faculty are instrumental and vocal specialists able to demonstrate and teach specific aspects in their area of expertise, benefiting you, your colleagues, and your students.

Offerings include:

Sectionals for Band Directors: saxophone, clarinet, horn, bassoon, jazz/rock bass, drums/percussion

Sectionals for Orchestra Directors: Violin, viola, cello

How to prepare the NYSSMA solo

What it takes to become a successful professional musician

How to improvise in a jazz ensemble
