Since 1986, the Music Therapy Institute has been the largest provider of professional music therapy services in the greater Westchester region, working individually and in small groups with over 2,000 children and adults each year.
“Participation in music therapy provides a range of benefits to people of all ages and abilities. The Music Therapy Institute faculty at MCW strive to support the specific needs of the individuals in our program. Through the directed use of music within a therapeutic relationship we are able to support developing language and communication skills in children with autism, enhance moments of awareness and quality of connection in Adults with Alzheimer’s, encourage physical coordination and mastery for individuals with cerebral palsy and provide a safe space for our veterans with PTSD to build coping skills and relive stress related to anxiety.” -Dr. Tina Brescia, MT-BC, LCAT, Music Therapy Institute, Director of On-Site Services
We offer individualized music therapy, adapted instruction, group classes/programs, and outreach.
