Performances & Distinctions

Zachary Pulse is an oboist based in New York’s Hudson Valley. Orchestral engagements this season include Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Q, The Caroga Arts Collective, Harrisburg Symphony, the Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra, and The Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. Highlight chamber music performances in 2025-2026 include venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall; the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall; the Howland Cultural Center, Beacon, NY; Atwood Museum, Chatham, MA; and the Chapel Restoration, Cold Spring, NY.

Zach has presented chamber music concerts across the U.S. and Europe with a wide range of ensembles, earning him several awards, including Grand Prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition in 2015. A champion of new music and working with living composers, Zach has commissioned several works that exhibit the oboe and the voice. His duo, So Much Hot Air — with mezzo-soprano, Jennifer Beattie — were artists-in-residence with the Yale College Composition Seminar in Fall 2023.
