Onsite Programs

Individual adapted instruction and music therapy sessions are provided by knowledgeable, warm caring music therapists for people of all ages at the Conservatory’s accessible facility.

The Music Therapy Faculty are board certified and hold master’s degrees in Music Therapy, with years of specific training in working with special needs learners. We approach each person with patience and an openness to their specific learning styles.

Our MTI studios are equipped with one-way mirrors that allow family members and caregivers to observe sessions in progress. The director of Onsite Services will arrange an initial interview and evaluation at no cost. Need-based tuition assistance is available upon request.

Music Therapy Institute

INDIVIDUAL MUSIC THERAPY2023-09-05T05:17:00-04:00

Individualized programs are designed to engage the creative aspects of each participant in an interactive process as they play, sing and move to improvised and familiar music building on strengths and addressing areas of need. Skilled therapists use piano, guitar, percussion, and voice to facilitate meaningful musical experiences. Sessions of 30 or 45 minutes are available as scheduled by the Director of Onsite Services.

Adapted instruction is offered in voice, piano, guitar and percussion. The lessons are taught by faculty members with expertise in these instruments who specifically design them to meet the learning styles of each student. Students must be able to attend to a task for at least 10 minutes, have developing fine motor strength, can demonstrate a sense of the basic beat. Students must also have an initial desire and motivation to learn the instrument.

DYAD MUSIC THERAPY2023-09-05T05:22:09-04:00

The Music Therapy DYAD is a two-person session that is designed to address the specific needs of each participant while engaging in the social aspects of sharing the experience of making music together.
