MCW isĀ seekingĀ an enthusiastic and skilled Guitar Teacher to join our faculty. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of individual students and styles on the MCW campus. There is also potential opportunity for local community outreach and group-class instruction.Ā Ā 

You will play an important part in helping young musicians build strongĀ foundational music skills,Ā develop their performance skills, and enjoy making music together. We are looking for an adaptable, engaging practitioner with strong musicianship and a passion for inspiring confident, creative players.Ā 

Days/ Hours:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Weekdays, primarily in the afternoons and eveningsĀ Ā Ā 
  • Saturdays 9:00-5:00Ā Ā 
  • Sundays 12:00-4:00Ā 

*Days and hours are negotiable based on each candidate's scheduleĀ Ā 

Duties & ResponsibilitiesĀ Ā 

  • TeachĀ private lessonsĀ Ā 
  • Complete progress reports twice per year for youth studentsĀ 
  • Create a learning environment that is challenging, motivating, and developmentally appropriate

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Competency andĀ expertiseĀ in guitar teaching and performance     
  • A passion for teaching and theĀ guitarĀ 
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and administrative staffĀ 
  • Ability to collaborate well with colleaguesĀ 
  • Creative curriculum and lesson planningĀ 
  • Effective classroom management skills, includingĀ allocatingĀ time, space, and materials    

Ā Required Experience:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Minimum College Requirement:Ā BachelorĀ of MusicĀ inĀ GuitarĀ PerformanceĀ orĀ Bachelor ofĀ Music Education with guitar as the primary instrument of study.Ā Ā 
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience

Preferred ExperienceĀ 

  • Suzuki Training encouragedĀ 
  • Experience teaching Ukulele encouragedĀ
