Music is instrumental in bringing people together. Our outreach program seeks to connect participants with their peers, environment, and the community at large.
The Institute’s outreach program provides group and individual music therapy programs for children and adults in special education settings, public schools, hospitals, nursing homes, senior centers, community mental health facilities, residential treatment facilities, rehabilitation centers, and social service programs.
The Institute’s outreach director works closely with each collaborating partner to create a custom-designed program to meet the unique needs of each participant. Consultation and Professional Development are provided to music educators assisting them in developing curriculum for self-contained and inclusion classes.
Experienced music therapy faculty provide in person programs at each partner’s location. Remote programs are available as needed.
The Music Therapy Institute maintains longstanding partnerships with agencies and organizations such as: The ARC Westchester, ARC Children’s School for Early Development, BOCES of Southern Westchester, Hospice of Westchester, Hudson Valley OPWDD, The Kensington Assisted Living, The New Jewish Home, Parkside Preschool, Richmond Community Services and 18 public school districts throughout the county.
