Joe Sabia
Joe is happy to announce he will return this fall as lead trumpet in the orchestra at A Contemporary Theatre of Connecticut’s production of “Beautiful; The Carole King Musical”. Last spring he was honored to be in their regional premiere of Disney’s “Frozen” for all 36 performances, and subbed regularly for them in “Fiddler on the Roof” the season before. “Beautiful” will run for 26 performances between October 22nd and November 22nd.

Emily Ouellette
Music therapist Emily Ouellette will make a presentation at the 18th World Congress of MTI Conference in Bologna, Italy this July. Her topic is “First Steps in Exploring Reflexivity and Liminality in Music Therapy Practice Within the Pediatric Hospital Setting.”

High schooler Haarrathi volunteers with a music therapist, and she’s seen first hand how music can help students with learning differences. But how does music affect the brain? That’s the question she posed to three neurologists.

Elliot Lutz, student of Renee Guerrero, was the youngest pianist selected to perform in the Gifted Young People’s Recital sponsored by the Leschetizky Association on March 8th at the Tenri Cultural Center in New York City.

Darian Gutierrez
We are very happy to congratulate Darian Gutierrez on his acceptance to the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance program at Mannes School of Music at The New School for Fall 2026!
Darian joined MCW in Fall 2025 after taking a hiatus from piano studies. Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, he worked very hard, dedicating himself to practicing and preparing his audition repertoire. His hard work paid off, and he was accepted to all the schools to which he applied!
Wishing Darian a wonderful academic experience and a fulfilling career in music.
Haverford College
Miles Ingram
Miles Ingram, clarinet student of Jared Hoffman and 2026 graduate of the MCW Honors Program, will be attending Haverford College in the fall. Haverford is known for its academic rigor, Honor Code, and beautiful arboretum campus
