Conservatory Students Win at Carnegie Hall

Doug Bish (Dean of Students and Faculty at MCW), Cathy Stanton (Clarinet) and Tim Guida (Piano)

On Saturday, October 26th, Music Conservatory of Westchester students Cathy Stanton, clarinet, and Tim Guida, piano, played as a duo in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall as winners of the American Fine Arts Festival’s 2019 Chamber Music Competition.

These two exceptional 16-year-old students performed the 2nd movement of Schubert’s “Arpeggione” Sonata, arranged for clarinet and piano.

Cathy Stanton has studied clarinet with Dr. Douglas Bish at the Conservatory since 2008. Tim Guida has studied piano at the Conservatory with Svetlana Gorokhovich since 2012. Both are Chamber Ensemble students of Dr. Bish.

Congratulations to Cathy and Tim for this impressive achievement!
