Larry loved his family and he loved music. For over a decade he was a familiar presence at the Music Conservatory of Westchester as a parent and as a Board member. He loved talking to people –other parents, students, faculty and staff – while his children were in their lessons and ensembles. MCW was like a second home.

Larry loved helping people. As a Board member, he wanted to make sure every student could fulfill their musical dreams, regardless of their family’s financial means. And he unfailingly delighted hungry students with pizza lunches on Saturdays.

Judith and family, along with the Music Conservatory, established the LS Honors Scholarship Fund for honors students in May 2022. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide tuition assistance for dedicated, accomplished students in the school’s Honors Program. The first recipient was named in spring 2023.

A celebration of Larry’s life and legacy was held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, with attendees filling the recital hall to share their cherished memories of Larry.
