Open Positions:
MCW is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Guitar Teacher to join our faculty. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of individual students and styles on the MCW campus. There is also potential opportunity for local community outreach and group-class instruction.
You will play an important part in helping young musicians build strong foundational music skills, develop their performance skills, and enjoy making music together. We are looking for an adaptable, engaging practitioner with strong musicianship and a passion for inspiring confident, creative players.
Days/ Hours:
- Weekdays, primarily in the afternoons and evenings
- Saturdays 9:00-5:00
- Sundays 12:00-4:00
*Days and hours are negotiable based on each candidate's schedule
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach private lessons
- Complete progress reports twice per year for youth students
- Create a learning environment that is challenging, motivating, and developmentally appropriate
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Competency and expertise in guitar teaching and performance
- A passion for teaching and the guitar
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and administrative staff
- Ability to collaborate well with colleagues
- Creative curriculum and lesson planning
- Effective classroom management skills, including allocating time, space, and materials
Required Experience:
- Minimum College Requirement: Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance or Bachelor of Music Education with guitar as the primary instrument of study.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience
Preferred Experience
- Suzuki Training encouraged
- Experience teaching Ukulele encouraged

- At least 2 years of teaching experience
Preferred Experience
- Dalcroze Training encouraged
- Strong piano skills encouraged
- Experience with young and changing voices encouraged
