Teaching Philosophy
“My teaching goals are threefold: stirring up a love of learning, conveying the knowledge base necessary to understand musical phenomena, and helping students think more comprehensively and with greater sensitivity. Above all else, my achievements in both artistic and educational contexts stem from my ability to forge strong connections with people of diverse identities and backgrounds. This is in large part what has drawn me to a life in music and for music–the ability to connect with others on a deep level in the service of humanistic ideals through music.”
