Today’s conductor needs to be more versatile, knowledgeable and flexible than ever before.

Many conductors are faced with a steep learning curve when they get their first professional engagements. AOD believes that most things you will encounter can be taught in advance. Understanding what they are and how to approach them makes you a more effective, efficient and employable conductor. AOD will give you the experience you’ll need to succeed as a conductor.

In collaboration with leading arts organizations, AOD focuses on different aspects of conducting – whether it’s recording in the studio, working with young musicians, conducting an opera gala, premiering new works, learning to cover an entire program on one rehearsal or performing with click track. At every course they discuss and analyze the many off-podium roles that you will undertake as a multitasking 21st century conductor.

Founders Karen Ní Bhroin and Timothy Redmond will guide participants through repertoire aligning with their needs for the next generation.

After two years of hugely successful sell-out courses in Europe, And Other Duties is bringing their unique style of mentoring to the U.S.!
